Artist statement

Claire's practice is process based and is driven by material exploration rooted in a rigorous studio practice where experimentation and play are the driving forces. Often influenced by the common perception of dystopia, frequently depicted by Science Fiction authors, the work takes a sculptural, 3D form and is created through a combination of found and constructed elements. These assemblages seek to create a feeling of the uncanny, leaning on the potential offered by liminal spaces and absurd arrangements.
